In my search for the deeprooted casues, my research has brought me far back into history and into questions such as "Why are some societies more religious than others?". General research interests: Economic growth in the long run, cultural values, religion, institutions, geography
Currently researching into the origins and conssequences of differences in religiousity across the globe.
Teaching economic history, which investigates the historical origins of moderne growth differences, the seminar "Fundamental Determinants of Economic Performance", where we investigate empirically the three deep determinants of economic outcomes; cultural values, institutions, and geography. In addition, I supervise bachelor and master thesises investigating the empirical grounding for various macroeconomic problems, such as testing the Solow model and origins of inequality.
